Jeremy Wright has been named as the new Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport.
He takes over the culture department from Matt Hancock, who has been promoted to Health Secretary in Prime Minister Theresa May’s reshuffle sparked by the resignation of her Foreign and Brexit secretaries.
The MP for Kenilworth and Southam will become the third culture secretary to handle the proposed Fox-Sky merger since its initiation in March 2017 with UK government approval expected to be given this week.
