Ideal World, the Peterborough-based shopping channel, has been put on the market by its private equity owners.
Blackstone is expected to sell the channel, which has capacity on Sky, Virgin Media and Freeview.
It purchased the channel’s parent company Ideal Shopping Direct for £200 million from fellow private equity firm Inflexion in 2015. However, it is expected that Blackstone’s sale will net it half of that.
Ideal World, a studio-based channel in the style of QVC, had been able to exploit the growing interest in home crafts, such as embroidery, cake decorating and making cards through brands including Ideal Extra, Create and Craft and Craft Extra.
