It’s emerged that Netflix is testing a new high-end Ultra Tier to a select group of customers in Europe.
First revealed by the Italian publication Tuttoandroid, Ultra joins the existing Base, Standard and Premium tiers.
The difference between Ultra and the present Premium tier is subtle. On the €16.99 Ultra you can playback content on four screens simultaneously – but that’s already the case with the €13.99 Premium. It also supports high dynamic range (HDR) and HD audio.
Standard is currently €10.99 and Base €7.99.
It’s unclear how far Netflix intends to develop its new tier, though the streaming service has confirmed the tests are taking place.
The operator’s prices have been slowly creeping up following a series of increases over the last two years.
