Kristo Kaasan has been appointed the technology and IT director at Levira, having previously worked as the company’s IT manager.
Commenting on the promotion, Tiit Tammiste, chairman of Levira’s management board, said: “In recent years, Levira has changed a lot in business terms and is carrying out extensive digitisation of services. Our services are increasingly dependent on IT, and Kristo IT’s background contributes well to Levira’s development”.
Kaasan said: “Levira has become a modern digital services company, where technology plays a major role in both the production of TV and data centre operations. With my private and public experience, I want to help increase Levira’s competitiveness and I believe that my interest in radio communications is beneficial as I am a radio amateur myself”.
Prior to Joining Levira, Kaasan worked as the general manager of the Estonian Information Technology Department at the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2013-2018, and three years previously as head of the security and administrative services at the Estonian Delegation to the EU in Brussels. Previous work experience includes various agencies in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tallinn-based Levira is one of the largest independent television distribution centres in northern Europe. It is also the main TV and radio broadcasting operator in Estonia.
Levira is jointly owned by the Republic of Estonia (51%) and France’s TDF (49%).
