Amazon is in the frame to pick up the remaining rights packages to screen top flight Spanish football, reports La Infomacion.
As was the case in the UK market – where Amazon eventually acquired the final 20 unsold games tfromo the Premier League ¬– the parcel delivery firm turned TV disrupter has been linked with the four outstanding lots put up for auction by La Liga.
The main rights have already been sold to Telefónica and Mediapro. The telco paid €980 million for its two exclusive packages with rights broker Mediapro picking up the remainder from the lower leagues.
Amazon would pick up the remaining division one match of the day, unwanted by Telefónica; two games each matchday from division two and some highlights.
The award is not likely to be made for several months.
