Orange’s turnover in Romania grew by 9% last year, while its net profit fell by 18%.
Quoting figures published by the Ministry of Public Finance, Ziarul Financiar reports that the five companies that constitute Orange’s operations in Romania had a combined turnover of RON5.5 billion (€1.18 billion) in 2017, up 9% on the previous year, while their net profit was 18% lower at RON320.9 million.
Meanwhile, their combined debts amounted to RON3.04 billion, or 6% more than in 2016.
Significantly, these figures do not include any internal transactions within the Orange group.
Orange is a key player in Romania’s TV industry, where it operates a cable and DTH service named Orange Home TV.
As of the end of last year, this had just under 400,000 subscribers.
