The Latvian incumbent Lattelecom has launched its new interactive TV platform and started the transition of existing interactive TV customers to the new service.
According to Lattelecom, Helio iTV is not only available on TV screens but also on mobile devices, providing users with recommendations and other advanced features.
Commenting on the development, Inga Alika-Stroda, director of Lattelecom Entertainment and Communication Services, said: “Today’s viewer is already expecting the world of entertainment to always be side by side, intuitive and understands the content that captivates him directly. Although it may seem that the viewing of a new generation of viewers is no longer so relevant, we know that with modern and convenient features, Helio iTV offers the best viewing experience by combining traditional TV and internet TV, allowing you to watch whatever, whenever and wherever we want it”.
Lattelecom notes that due to the large number of Lattelecom Interactive TV customers the switch to Helio iTV will be gradual. It began on June 26 and thousands will be migarted each week.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Lattelecom will eventually use the Helio brand for all its TV products.
