WATCH VIDEO. Dutch public broadcaster NPO has launched its OTT service on Apple TV4 and Apple TV 4K.
NPO Start is the catch-up and live streaming OTT platform of the Dutch national broadcasters, offering access to all programmes of the three national Dutch public channels NPO1, NPOI 2 and NPO 3.
The service is available in two versions, NPO Start as a free-to-view platform, and NPO Start Plus, which retails at €2.95 monthly. The premium version offer 365 days catch-up, which is just seven days in the free version, as well as the possibility to watch upcoming episodes of TV series. NPO Start Plus also offers HD quality and no pre-roll advertising on the VOD content.
Apart from NPO Start the Dutch public channels are also available on the OTT pay platform NLZiet, that in addition offers the main private channels from RTL and Talpa/SBS, both live streaming and on-deamnd.
Both Apple TV apps give Dutch viewers to possibility to cut the cord when they just want to watch the main national channels. In addition, Apple TV 4 offers apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Videoland and Pathé Thuis for additional on-demand content.
