The Municipal Court in Prague has issued an interim injunction against M7 Group that prevents it from distributing Prima channels meant for Czech viewers to those living in Slovakia.
In a statement, FTV Prima says that the court has ordered M7 Group to block access to the channels Prima, Prima Cool, Prima Love, Prima Zoom, Prima Max and Prima Krimi on decryption cards supplied by the DTH platform Skylink in Slovakia. M7 Group is also obliged to stop offering and selling such cards in Slovakia.
Commenting on the development, Gabriela Semova, head of corporate and internal communications at FTV Prima, said: “We are pleased that the court has accepted our application for interim measures regarding Skylink decryption cards. Operators should not act against the contract and distribute our programmes outside of the Czech Republic, and thus expose us to the danger of being penalised by global copyright providers for foreign programmes. Viewers in Slovakia can continue to watch their favourite shows on the Prima Plus channel”.
M7 Group operats the DTH platform Skylink in both the Czech Republic. FTV Prima’s Prima Plus channel is solely aimed at viewers in Slovakia.
