The Ukrainian regulator National Council has appealed to the manufacturers of DTT reception equipment to maximise their product availability in the country.
In a statement, it notes that the Cabinet of Ministers recently amended the digitisation plan in order to bring forward the ASO in Kyiv and the Kirovograd region by a month to July 31.
In view of this, it has sent letters to companies such as Romsat, Strong Ukraine, Comfy, Eldorado and Rozteka telling them to prepare for a sharp increase in demand from the public for tuners and TVs used to receive MPEG-4 DTT signals.
The National Council has also appealed to smaller suppliers to take into account the situation in the Ukrainian market and ensure the availability of widely priced receivers in order to satisfy public demand.
