Serbia Broadband (SBB) will in controversial circumstances raise its fees for the second time in six months.
However, reports Kamatica, the rise will only apply to the customers of Ikom, another leading operator it has been provisionally allowed to acquire.
The new rise, amounting to RSD95 (€ ) a month, is to “equalise” the price and quality of service for Ikom users with those receive SBB’s offer.
However, despite SBB having completed integration with Ikom and Ikom subscribers having already seen their fees increase, they will see another rise.
One customer was quoted as saying that while previously they had an aggregate price, it was broken down to services from the New Year.
The cable part costs RDS1,300 a month, with the additional RSD95 being effectively for internet and fixed telephony.
Other customers have complained of losing many of the channels they were previous able to watch.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Serbia’s Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) officially launched an investigation into SBB’s acquisition of Ikom in March this year. It has only conditionally approved the deal.
