The M7 Group-owned DTH platform Skylink has made leading Slovak FTA commercial stations available to its subscribers in the Czech Republic, and vice-versa, for a service fee.
However, reports Zive, the commercial stations, which include Nova, Markiza, Prima and Joj, claim they were not informed about the move and did not give their permission.
Commenting on the move, Jaromir Glisnik, member of the board at M7 Group, said that its subscribers who wanted to watch channels from the neighbouring country had complained that they were required to buy a card, pay a registration fee and sometimes even acquire a new set-top box to do so.
He added that Skylink was not worried about the threat of legal action by the broadcasters as it has not violated any laws or violated contracts.
