Netflix is the most used subscription streaming service in Switzerland.
This is the result of a survey conducted by market research institute GfK Switzerland among 1,517 people for online comparison portal moneyland.ch.
Around 13% of all respondents use Netflix and pay for it. Swisscom and Spotify follow with 8% each, Apple Music with 6% and Apple Video/iTunes with 5%.
Among young people between 19 and 25 years of age, the use of streaming services is much more widespread: 25% have a Netflix subscription, followed by Spotify (15%) and Swisscom (14%).
However, password sharing is becoming an increasing problem for streaming providers in Switzerland: Around 35% of Netflix users stated in the survey that they use the service without paying for it. 23% get access through the login data of friends or colleagues.
