Amino has launched a new program that allows pay-TV operators to create new and compelling video services while maximising the value of deployed assets.
Known as Operation Upcycle, it draws on Amino solutions such as legacy IPTV STB transformation; IP migration for CATC; and Mediaroom replacement used by operators to upcycle their existing infrastructure.
Commenting on the development, Amino chief executive Donald McGarva, says: “The primary objective is to help operators engage customers while maximizing return on capital. We want operators to reap the benefits of their legacy infrastructure while continuing to add innovative new services. Giving consumers a better viewing experience does not always require massive new investment. Upcycling is about combining the best of both worlds: providing state-of-the-art content and user experiences while making smart use of already deployed resources.”
Mark Evensen, Amino’s CTO, added: “Upcycling is a key element of our capability and offers immense value to our customers.
“Operators recognize the opportunity to appeal to all generations of consumers, from millennials to traditional TV viewers. This requires new thinking about the content mix and user experience while also minimizing capital investments to a minimum level to optimize the pay-TV business case.”
