Sky Italia reorganises commercial activities

Sky Italia has announced a series of new appointments in its sales and marketing division.

John Ciarlariello takes on overall responsibility for the broadcaster’s digital and commercial activities including the Digital Hub.

Francesco Calosso is appointed chief marketing officer. He has responsibility for the strategy and implementation of the company’s marketing plan. Daniele Ottier, who most recently has led Sky Media through a period of revenue growth, has been appointed chief commercial officer, with responsibility for all activities related to net growth including that of ARPU and its business and bar distribution.

The Digital Hub will be presided over by Giovanni Ciarlariello, who moves from EVP digital & operations to become chief media, digital; data officer, bringing together responsibility for digital activities and those of the dealership.

This new organisation also brings with to an extension of the responsibilities of Domenico Labianca, who is appointed chief operating officer.

Commenting on the appointments Andrea Zappia, CEO Sky Italia, said: “Thanks to strategic agreements in recent weeks, Sky has a solid basis for its growth, we’ve extended the profile of the business and completed the transformation into a media platform company with multiple business models.

“Now we have created the organisational prerequisites to turn this into concrete opportunities. This new organizational structure is inspired by a shared leadership model that will allow us to make decisions quickly and to drive each area with great determination.”
