SES launches new TV package with Telekom Srbija

May 14, 2018 09.13 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

SES Video and the Serbian incumbent Telekom Srbija have launched a new TV package across Europe via the 23.5 degrees East orbital position.

Under the terms of a multi-year agreement between the two parties, the telco is leasing satellite capacity on Astra 3B to distribute the new TV bouquet to cable and IPTV networks, with a focus on Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Montenegro. The package will initially comprise of seven TV channels including Agro TV, Film Klub, Kitchen TV, Star TV and Zenska TV, and additional channels will be added by this summer.

Commenting on the development, Marijana Vukasinovic, head of content management at Telekom Srbija, said: “This is a significant step for us as we are now delivering our local and regional content to Europe via our partners’ networks.

“This TV package will offer a variety of Serbian and regional TV programmes to viewers across Europe. We have worked with SES on many different projects over the years, and we could not think of a better partner to rely on.”

Martin Ornass-Kubacki, VP, Central Eastern Europe, sales at SES Video, added: “We are very pleased to work together with Telekom Srbija on the expansion of their video business by providing high-quality broadcasting services.

“This deal is yet another exciting step that strengthens the cooperation with our long-standing partner in Serbia as we work together to launch a brand new TV bouquet to Europe.”
