TimVision signs retrains agreement with Mediaset

May 11, 2018 10.16 Europe/London By Julian Clover

TimVision has agreed retransmission rights for all of its free-to-air channels with Mediaset.

“The new accord marks a further step forward in the content strategy set out in the DigiTIM Plan, focused on delivering the maximum value to TIM customers combining the top television experience with the best connectivity,” the Italian telco said in a statement.

The agreement also includes pay-per-view across all platforms and catch-up TV over a seven-day period following transmission.

From January 2019 all of Mediaset’s free-to-air channels will be available on TimVision: Canale5, Italia1, Retequattro along with the free thematic channels 20, Iris, La5, Mediaset Extra, Italia2, Top Crime, news channel TGCom24 and the new Focus channel that will be launched in mid May.

Mediaset said the agreement represented further recognition of the relevance of the content of both its generalist channels and free thematic channels.
