Internet TV provider Zattoo has commenced offering selected TV channels in Full HD quality (1080p/50) in Germany.
The Full HD streams are part of the new Ultimate subscription package which includes over 100 TV channels, 70 of which are in HD and 10 in Full HD quality. The Full HD channels are Das Erste, ZDF, Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, Sport1, sixx, ProSieben Maxx, ZDFneo and Comedy Central.
The participation of public broadcasters ARD and ZDF enables Zattoo customers to watch this year’s FIFA Football World Cup matches in Full HD quality.
“With Ultimate, we show the power of TV streaming and that Zattoo is a real alternative to traditional reception methods – not only for television on mobile devices, but also and especially on TV sets connected to the internet,” said Jörg Meyer, Chief Officer Content & Consumer of Zattoo.
Until now, DVB-T2 platform Freenet TV has been the only platform in Germany to offer Full HD channels.
The Ultimate package allows up to four parallel streams per subscription. Family members can, for example, watch different channels on the smart TV set, tablet and smartphone. Up to 100 TV programmes can be recorded online in the cloud. Other functions include replay and restart.
The bouquet costs €19.99 per month and can be cancelled monthly.
