Cheddar to publish daily story on Snapchat

May 8, 2018 18.14 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Cheddar, the self-styled post- cable news network, has launched daily news programming on Snapchat.

New editions of Cheddar’s Publisher Story will be available on the social media network from 6am ET/11am BST.

“Cheddar on Snapchat brings a different approach to business news?—?it’s fun, engaging, and most importantly, we hope Snapchatters will learn something new in each edition,” said Peter Gorenstein, Chief Content Officer of Cheddar. “Focusing on financial literacy, Cheddar will equip a new generation with unprecedented access to financial technologies, and with the skills and information they need to build a better future. We love Snap, their focus on media partnerships, and their amazing young and highly engaged audience.”

Amongst its other outlets, Cheddar already counts YouTube TV, Snapchat, Amazon and Twitter.

“Snapchatters are passionate about learning about the world around them,” said Mike Su, Snap’s Head of Publisher and Creator Content. “We’re excited to welcome Cheddar to Snapchat as we continue to expand relevant and authoritative sources of news for our community.”

The Publisher Stories will centre around personal finance, careers, cryptocurrencies and brands.
