Ukraine’s leading cable operator Volia has emerged as a possible take-over target for the Mexican media magnate Carlos Slim.
Quoting anonymous industry sources, Mind and Mediasat report that negotiations about a possible sale began two weeks ago, with Volia being valued at $112 million.
They add that this is not the first time that rumours about a possible sale of Volia have circulated in the market.
Late last year, for instance, it was reported to be attracting interest from Boris Lozhkin, while in 2016 there were reports of a possible deal with Kyivstar.
Carlos Slim has been a shareholder of A1 Telekom Austria Group since 2014, while Volia is backed by Providence Equity Partners.
