Lithuania’s Radio and Television Commission (LRTK) has imposed a fine of €150,000 on the cable operator Init.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the regulator was considering fining Init for violating its ruling on the retransmission of the Russian channel RTR Planeta. Init now has three months to pay the fine into the state budget.
Figures published by LRTK in early April show that Init had a 10.3% share of Lithuania’s pay-TV market as of the end of Q3 2017.
The leading providers were Telia (33.6%), followed by Cgates (20.7%).
