It’s emerged that Cisco could be close to a sale of its Videoscape unit.
The former NDS Group is reportedly being sold back to Permira Holdings, the private equity firm that sold the company on to Cisco in 2012. However, is likely to take a hit of $4 billion (€3.3bn) on the sale.
Calcalist, citing people familiar with the matter, reports the sale price is likely to be in the region of $1 million.
Following its acquisition Cisco integrated NDS into its Videoscape suites and offers.
It had already sold connected-device business, the former Scientific-Atlanta, in 2015.
Neither Cisco nor Permira are commenting on a possible transaction.
