The Polish public broadcaster TVP has launched an SVOD service as part of its on demand offer TVP VOD.
Known as Strefa ABO (‘Subscriber’s Zone’), access to it is free for viewers who pay, or are exempt from paying, the receiver licence fee. Otherwise, it can be received for free for a trial period of 14 days, followed by a subscription of PLN9.99 (€2.38) per 30 days.
TVP says that its TVP VOD catalogue has been built on premium content obtained from BBC Studios, along with Polish and other foreign producers. Now, thanks to an agreement with BBC Studios, Strefa ABO users will have access to 700 hours of its content.
Initially, they will be offered 150 hours of films and series, with new titles being added every quarter.
TVP also says that some of the best content will be available in HD, with subtitles, and all video content will also be accessible through the TVP VOD app.
