German telco Deutsche Telekom will continue to show all games of Germany’s domestic first-division Basketball league following a five-year extension of its rights agreement with the Basketball Bundesliga until the 2022/23 season.
Basketball fans will be able to watch the games live, on demand and in highlights summaries on Deutsche Telekom’s sports service Telekom Sport which is available on IPTV platform Entertain TV, smartphones and tablets.
Telekom will also show all matches of the Allstar Days and the BBL Cup. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Telekom has been transmitting all games of the Handball Bundesliga since the 2014/15 season when it secured the rights for the first time.
[Update, September 24, 2018] Sport1 will remain Deutsche Telekom’s free-to-air partner for the Basketball Bundesliga in the next five years and show up to 47 games per season live and exclusively on its free-to-air channel.
