KPN’s has updated its Interactive TV app making it accessible across the EU, adding Chromecast and 7-day catch-up.
As of today it is possible to catch up programmes 7 days back from the EPG. This replaces the dedicated catch-up services from the broadcaster, as RTL decided to drop support for its programmes. Viewers now can watch any programme from the EPG up to seven days after the original broadcast.
The app’s homepage now includes several carousels of titles to inspire customers what they can see. There are carousels with programmes that are now or later on TV and also carousels with movies and series (from the Plus package, for example). In addition, there are a number of buttons that allow customers to quickly go to a particular part of the app, such as the TV Guide.
Chromecast functionality has now been built into the new app allowing customers to watch at a large screen.
The Interactive TV app can also be used in all countries of the EU. All the channels that can be watched outside the customer’s home can now also be viewed across the EU. Some channels and programmes are only available on the TV set at home, in which case KPN does not have the rights to make the channel available while on the road. These channels are shown in the app so that customers have the possibility to schedule a recording.
The renewed app can be downloaded from the various app stores as of today. Customers who are already using the Interactive TV app are automatically offered the update, those who have not yet installed the app can do so via the various app stores.
