Doina Gradea has been appointed the new president and DG of the Romanian public broadcaster SRTv.
In a statement, SRTv says the decision was validated by parliament, with 209 votes in favour and 40 against.
At a plenary session of the Culture Commission, Gradea said that the new leadership at SRTv wants to make the broadcaster a more flexible organisation, produce more dynamic programming and make more effective use of human and financial resources.
A plenary session of the senate and chamber of deputies approved, by 348 votes for and two against, the composition of the 13-member board of directors at SRTv.
After validation by parliament, the new members of the board met and proposed Doina Gradea as president and DG.
