Professor Wolfram Winter, former head of communications and corporate spokesman of German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland, has acquired a 15% stake in German movie production company Pictures in a Frame.
Winter (pictured in the middle) purchased the shares from the two founders Tobias Herrmann and Jan Gallasch (pictured left and right) who are also Managing Directors of the company created in 2011. Winter will become the Chairman of the Shareholders’ Meeting.
“We are very pleased that Wolfram will invest in our growing company and support us in further expanding our production volume,” said the two founders of the production firm located on the Bavaria Film premises in Munich.
Winter added: “Since the time when I was teaching Jan and Tobias at Macromedia University in 2011, I was convinced of their talent and skill. They created a company and a track record out of nothing. It gives me great pleasure supporting them in their growth ambitions as a shareholder and chairman.”
Among the productions Pictures in a Frame has worked on is the comedy Bruder vor Luder (480,000 cinema-goers in D/A/CH, distributed by Constantin Film), the drama Nirgendwo (world premiere at the 12th Filmfest Zürich) and the comedy 25 km/h by Markus Goller & Oliver Ziegenbalg which will be released nationwide in cinemas by Sony Pictures Entertainment Deutschland on November 1, 2018.
Winter left Sky in July 2017 after 10 years at the pay-TV broadcaster. His successor as Senior Vice President Communications and corporate spokesman is Ralph Fürther who held various management positions at Sky since 1999.
