The Crown has been named as the best programme on a streamed service by those who write about the medium.
The Left Bank Pictures production, shown exclusively in the UK on Netflix, was honoured as the Best Online First /Streaming production by the Broadcasting Press Guild at an awards ceremony at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Claire Foy who plays The Queen was named Best Actress for her role in the second series of the show, just days after it was revealed that she had been paid less for the series than her co-star Matt Smith.
The Best Multichannel Programme was Sky Atlantic’s The Trip to Spain featuring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.
