Alexei Kholodov, the general director of Russia’s leading pay-TV operator Tricolor TV, is set to leave the company at the end of this month.
Quoting a source close to close to shareholder in Tricolor TV and two of Kholodov’s friends, Vedomosti reports that his last day will be March 30.
Tricolor TV’s staff have also been informed about Kholodov’s departure, which is understood to have taken many by surprise and has been put down to disagreements with Andrei Tkachenko, the company’s owner.
Kholodov oversaw a number of important changes at Tricolor TV including the introduction of non-linear services, launch of satellite broadband and expansion into the far east of Russia.
His departure comes against the backdrop of a general slowdown in the Russian pay-TV market.
