Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has passed a ruling against the cable operator Multimedia Polska.
In a statement, the UOKiK says that Multimedia incorrectly informed its subscribers that they had a right to withdraw from a contract for the provision of telecom services in shorter time than the law provides.
Those affected will now be compensated with two months subscription fee. Some will also be offered additional services, such as access to Multimedia’s film library, 50 minutes of mobile phone usage or 5Gb of internet data.
Significantly the UOKiK decided not to fine Multimedia as it eliminated the effects of its practices.
