The Cypriot incumbent telco Cyta has obtained the exclusive TV broadcasting rights for the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League for three seasons, beginning 2018-19.
Cyta was awarded the rights as part of a tendering process and, from this August, Cytavision will provide exclusive live coverage of every match in both competitions.
Cyta is one of the two main providers of electronic communications services in Cyprus, the other being Cablenet, which is majority owned by Malta’s GO.
It remains a semi-government organisation despite plans to privatise it dating back several years.
