Search and recommendation specialist ThinkAnalytics has appointed industry veteran Gabriel Berger as its new CEO.
The firm serves an average of 2 billion recommendations per day to over 200 million subscribers under license.
Based out of ThinkAnalytics’ Los Angeles office, Berger brings over 20 years’ experience in the media and broadcast tech sector. Most recently he spent three years as EVP, sales and operations, at Vubiquity, prior to the firm’s sale to Amdocs. Before that, he was SVP sales at Digitalsmiths, where he led the team responsible for securing contracts with seven of the top ten US video service providers, prior to being acquired by TiVo.
“ThinkAnalytics is a technology powerhouse in the TV search, recommendations and viewer analytics space and a natural fit for my experience and skill set,” said Berger. “I’m fascinated by the intersection of artificial intelligence and big data within entertainment and the need for actionable analytics that allow pay-TV and OTT players to fully engage with their customers and monetize their content as the battle for eyeballs intensifies.”
The 15-year old company counts Cox Communications, Liberty Global, Rogers, Sky, Swisscom, Singtel, Vodafone, KPN and the BBC among its customers.
