US private equity company General Atlantic could acquire a minority stake in the digital business of German media group ProSiebenSat.1.
Exclusive talks are currently taking place between the two companies, reports Reuters with reference to two people with direct knowledge of the matter.
The sources said that it was possible, but not yet certain, hat ProSiebenSat.1 would unveil a deal when departing CEO Thomas Ebeling announces his final set of annual results on February 22, 2018.
ProSiebenSat.1 has invested in digital activities outside the classic media industry such as online travel, dating and other e-commerce portals to reduce its dependency on the TV advertising market.
The stake up for sale is rumoured to amount to 30 to 40%.
