Bulgarian International Television (BIT) has been sold to the producer Miroslav Yanev for an undisclosed fee.
According to Capital, Yanev is associated with Krassimir Gergov, a minority shareholder in the Bulgarian national commercial broadcaster bTV, which is owned by CME.
It adds that although Gergov in fact signed the preliminary agreement to buy BIT, it was not announced publicly as his ownership in bTV precludes him from acquiring other TV stations.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, BIT was launched in late 2015 by the brothers Pavel and Rumen Valnevi, who operate a large logistical and transport network in the US.
