Eurosport is adding three pop-up channels to provide dedicated 24/7 coverage from the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
Carriage has been secured on BT TV, Virgin Media & Virgin Media Ireland, however the temporary Eurosport 3, 4 and 5 will be absent from satellite homes as no agreement has so far been secured with Sky.
Eurosport’s live and on demand coverage will also be available on the Eurosport app that will feature up to 16 bonus channels.
James Gibbons, General Manager, UK, IRL & ANZ & Head of Commercial Development EMEA, Discovery Networks International, said: “We’ve invested in launching three pop-up channels to bring fans closer to all the Olympic Games action than ever before, with the most comprehensive coverage and expert insights from PyeongChang 2018. It is all part of Discovery’s commitment to bring the Olympic Winter Games to more people, on more screens.”
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, Eurosport’s German feed will be available free to air for the duration of PyeongChang 2018, while in the Netherlands the pop up channels will be available on the Ziggo network.
The Discovery-backed channel plans to offer more than 4,000 hours of coverage, 900 of them live, across 100 events.
