The Russian cable operator Akado is no longer for sale, according to Viktor Vekselberg, the head of Renova.
Quoted by TelecomDaily, he added that the company is instead engaged in a serious transformation and introducing new interesting products.
Last month Rostelecom said it was no longer engaged in negotiations to buy Akado though still remained interested in the company.
Its interest in fact dates back to 2011, when it embarked on a first round of talks with Renova, Akado’s owner.
Since then, MegaFon, TransTelekom, MTS and ER Telecom have also held talks, with ER Telecom going in to buy Akado’s operations in St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
