4K channel for nc+

The Polish DTH platform nc+ has applied to the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for a new 4K TV channel licence.

Quoting Jacek Balicki, nc+’s marketing VP, Wirtualne Media reports that the development of 4K technology is a strategic objective for the company in 2018.

Although the new channel will be named Canal+ 4K, Balicki declined to provide any further details at this stage.

Nc+ introduced a new receiver named the 4K UltraBOX+ last November.

At the same time, it made some sports content in 4K available to its subscribers.
