Deutsche Telekom unlocks Eurosport 1 HD during Olympics, adds Eurosport 2 HD

February 5, 2018 08.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German telco Deutsche Telekom has added Eurosport 1 HD and Eurosport 2 HD to its IPTV platform Entertain TV.

Besides the Sky package, Eurosport 1 HD is now also part of Entertain TV’s HD Start bouquet while pay-TV channel Eurosport 2 HD joins subscription packages Big TV and Sport International.

The channels join Entertain TV as part of a carriage deal renewal between Discovery Networks Deutschland and Deutsche Telekom which also allows the telco to continue offering DMAX, TLC, Discovery Channel und Animal Planet to its subscribers both in SD and HD resolution.

To enable all Entertain TV customers to watch the extensive coverage of the Olympic Winter Games 2018, Deutsche Telekom will offer Eurosport 1 HD and TLC HD free of charge to all Entertain TV customers from February 9 to 25, 2018. Eurosport 1 HD will report 24 hours per day from the competitions with some of the coverage airing on women’s channel TLC HD.

German cable operator Unitymedia will also offer Eurosport 1 HD and TLC HD free of charge during the Olympics. Vodafone Deutschland’s cable customers and users of DVB-T2 platform Freenet TV will also be able to watch Eurosport 1 HD free of charge during the Olympics.
