The Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) will no longer distribute Discovery channels in its MAXtv service from February 1.
They will be replaced by a number of similar services, including National Geographic, History, Crime and Investigation and CBS Reality.
At the same time, MAXtv will also now include the documentary channels Viasat Explorer, Viasat Nature, Viasat History and completely new channels History 2 and Woman. They will be placed in MAXtv’s Essential package, while its Extended package will include Cinestar Premiere 1, Cinestar Premiere 2, Cinestar Fantasy, Viasat Epic and BBC Earth for no additional cost.
All new channels will be localised with the exception of BBC Earth, which will be offered in Croatian from March.
The channels will also be available in HD Ready or in HD format.
HT points out that MAXtv subscribers also have advanced services and functionality at their disposal.
For instance, they can already receive the most HD channels and the number will be increased in the coming months.
