Telefonica is on the verge of signing a new agreement with Netflix.
The telco would place the premium streaming service on its IPTV platform Movistar+.
Local media reports that an announcement will be made during February, though Netflix is unlikely to be make its Movistar+ debut until the summer, to allow time for technical integration to take place.
Expansion reports the protagonist of the talks was Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, who attended a Telefonica company meeting last autumn along with Telefónica CEO José María Álvarez-Pallete – and 900 other employees.
Netflix already has 1.2 million subscribers in Spain.
