Sky is launching a new Smart Stick for its streaming service NOW TV.
The £14.99 stick becomes the cheapest in the UK market. The Roku product features voice search technology to quickly navigate through shows, films, actors or directors.
Its rollout next month is part of a move to a new common streaming platform. It’s expected to be fully in place by the middle of 2018.
A £19.99 edition bundles the stick with a two-month NOW TV Entertainment Pass featuring 11 pay-TV channels and 300 Box Sets.
“If you’re looking for a flexible way to stream great TV, contract free, our plug-and-play NOW TV Smart Stick is the cheapest in the UK. Just add one of our content passes to stream premium live sports, binge over 300 Box Sets, watch a new movie premiere every day, or keep the family entertained with thousands of kids episodes,” Commenting on the announcements, said Gidon Katz, Managing Director, NOW TV
It’s planned to introduce full HD streaming on live and on demand content before the end of the year.
According to the BARB Establishment Survey (Q3 2017), NOW TV has a base of 1.4 million households.
