Digi has informed the Hungarian regulator NMHH that it has set June 15 as the new date for the launch of mobile telephony services in the country.
According to Világgazdaság and BBJ, it has already delayed the date on several occasions, with the most recently one having been March 21.
They add that while Digi has not provided a reason for the delays, one may be that the company failed to reach an agreement with the other mobile operators about the roaming services necessary for national coverage.
Romanian-owned Digi is one of the leading providers of broadband and pay-TV services in Hungary, competing directly with Magyar Telekom and UPC.
