After a slow start, Telenor is now making headway with its T-We streaming service.
Between 2016 and 2017, Norwegians use of the platform increased by 52 per cent. In total 46 million plays were initiated both on TV set-tops and T-We’s dedicated app.
“In 2017, we’ve improved the streaming and introduced more inclusive offers like Paramount+, Disney and Fox+ for all TV customers. This has led to a formidable increase and 50 per cent of customers streamed content from T-We on mobile, PC or TV in 2017, “says Birgit Bjørnsen, Head of TV and Broadband in Telenor.
The next step is a refresh of T-We’s look and feel with a new design and new features.
“The most important thing in the new upgrade is that the blue button on the remote control takes you straight from the linear channel you’re watching to the same channel’s archive of series, movies and entertainment. Thus, we connect direct-TV and streaming even closer,” explains Bjørnsen.
In addition, it will be possible set up your own TV guide with categories and sort the kind of content you want in the programme overview.
According to a survey by Kantar TNS, Norwegian entertainment and comedy increased most in popularity from 2016 to 2017. Movies, documentaries and American TV shows still have the top three positions.
