Swiss telco Swisscom has chosen a Wi-Fi antenna solution from US technology company Ethertronics to maximise performance of its WLAN box.
The box is a newly deployed 3-in-1 Wi-Fi device acting as a WLAN repeater, access point and video bridge for Swisscom’s broadband and video subscribers.
In order to help meet the challenges of delivering robust wireless coverage for video, internet and smart home applications, Swisscom’s designers turned to Ethertronics to maximise the radio link performance of its Wi-Fi box.
By leveraging Ethertronics’ expertise in antenna designs, systems-level optimisation and testing methodology, Swisscom was able to deliver wireless video transmission with full 4K-HD support, according to Ethertronics.
“The continued rollout by leading service providers of wireless 4K-HD TV services and advanced consumer applications is driving the need to maximise both Wi-Fi capacity and coverage throughout the home,” said Vahid Manian, Chief Operating Officer of Ethertronics.
