Baptiest Coopmans has been appointed Acting Chief Technology Officer, leading the Technology & Innovation organisation ay Liberty Global, effective immediately.
Baptiest has played an integral role throughout the first year of T&I’s centralised operating model as Senior Vice President, Technology Operations, and will continue to drive the strategic and scale benefits this model is proving.
In this capacity, Baptiest will report directly to Mike Fries, representing the T&I group on the Executive Operating Committee and assuming all responsibilities in leading the function. To further support focus on T&I’s core deliverables, Fries will institute and chair, along with Balan Nair, a Technology Council that will meet every six weeks to review and ensure the delivery of our innovation roadmap and 2018 budget objectives.
This role will be in place on an interim basis until further notice, as the company continues to recruit for the permanent position.
