The regional court in the Czech city of Ceske Budejovice has issued a preliminary injunction against a Czech company named Opton.
In a statement, the national broadcaster TV Nova says that it addition to providing internet services Opton was distributing Nova channels illegally.
It adds that the court ordered the company to refrain from offering its customers TV Nova, Nova Cinema, Nova 2 (formerly Smichov), Nova action (formerly Fanda), Nova Gold (formerly Telka) and Nova Sport 1.
Commenting on the development, Martin Snydr, PR and brand manager of Nova Group, said: “we do not have a contract with Opton for the distribution of our stations, so their offer and distribution was illegitimate. We take legal action against the unauthorized dissemination of Nova’s stations”.
