Viasat World’s Epic Drama set for CEE launch

December 13, 2017 11.46 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The new Viasat World channel Epic Drama will make its debut in 11 countries in Central and Eastern Europe tomorrow (Thursday, December 14).

In a press conference in Warsaw earlier this week, it was announced that the channel will initially be made available to Cyfrowy Polsat subscribers in Poland at launch. It will also be offered by Play Now and Orange at launch, with nc+ adding it to its offer on January 1. In addition, the channel will be made available to customers of the Silesia-based operator Elsat.

It was also announced that Viasat World signed a key agreement with ITV Studios Global Entertainment on December 6 securing content for Epic Drama.

Earlier, Viasat World announced that Epic Drama will launch in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Over 70& of the channel’s content will be exclusive to the market and 80% of content will include SVOD rights, with most primetime content produced within the last three years.
