TV Spielfilm live enables TV recordings

December 12, 2017 20.54 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German OTT platform TV Spielfilm live has commenced offering its users the possibility to record TV programmes online and watch them any time they like.

Through the function available to subscribers of the Premium package, TV content can directly be recorded from the electronic programme guide (EPG) – via the smartphone/tablet app, the browser and soon via Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV through the TV set.

At launch, the storage capacity equals 50 hours of TV recordings. The recording function is available for all public TV channels as well as commercial channels Tele 5, Welt der Wunder, Euronews, Sport1 and GoldStar TV. Further channels are to follow.

The TV Spielfilm live users had so far only been able to set currently TV programmes back to the beginning (‘Instant restart’).

The platform has also added a new TV channel: German cookery channel BonGusto, initially available until the end of February 2018. On December 1, 2017, German Schlager channel GoldStar TV joined TV Spielfilm live.
