UPC is creating a new consumer division by merging the activities of marketing, sales and customer operations into one entity.
Severina Pascu will lead this new unit as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Liberty Global’s Central Europe Group. Pascu will report directly to Eric Tveter, CEO for the Liberty Global Central Europe Group operating under the UPC brand in each country.
The organisational structure is being adapted to place more focus on customers, creating a new consumer unit and bringing the marketing, sales and customer operations activities under the same leadership, according to UPC.
Pascu will assume a new role as COO for the entire Central Europe Group in addition to her current role as Managing Director Central Eastern Europe (CEE). In this position, Pascu will coordinate the end-to-end consumer activities in Switzerland and Austria while maintaining her current responsibility for the operations in Poland, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the DTH activities based in Luxembourg.
The 45-year-old possesses a decade-long track record in general management and over 20 years experience in the telecommunications and finance industries, 10 of those with Liberty Global.
Together with Pascu, Urs Reinhard, currently Vice-President Strategy and member of the senior leadership team, will join the newly formed consumer unit and will assume a new role as Managing Director Sales & Customer Operations for Switzerland and Austria.
The 40-year-old, who has worked for UPC since 2016, brings with him over 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry including international experience. He will replace Frank Zelger who has decided to leave the company after nine years.
