Antenna Hungária plans to migrate the 100,000 unregistered unique visitors to its MinDig TV FTA app to a new brands umbrella next year.
Speaking to Broadband TV News at the Dataxis NexTV Series CEE & DACH 2017 conference in Berlin, Krisztina Kegye, head of product management, MindigTV Extra, said that the FTA app has had over 1.5 million downloads since its launch in 2013. It has 10,000 downloads on a monthly basis and 100,000 unregistered unique visitors.
The biggest challenge will be to move the latter to a new brand umbrella named Mindigo in Q1 2018. The umbrella will cover on the one hand TV Everywhere, FTA and the Mindig TV app and on the other sport.
Kegye said that Antenna Hungária is currently looking for an Android box that includes a DVB-T receiver. However, it cannot be too expensive for the end user – ideally under €35 – and is proving to be hard to find.
Antenna Hungária has been actively involved in HbbTV since late 2013. It also sells it bundles of its services through around 350 sales points throughout Hungary.
Speaking about linear pay-TV OTT in a panel discussion, she also said that the company would eventually move to it though it is at the end of its roadmap.
